The population of the urban area of Aldergrove is about 5000. The outlying rural area of Aldergrove extends 15 km north to the Fraser River and 5 km south to the United States (Washington) border. Aldergrove is situated on a hill, with Langley in a valley to the west (about 35 feet above sea level).

Many different crops are grown on the surrounding farms: corn, pumpkins, mushrooms, raspberries, strawberries, and vegetables. Aldergrove is part of Langley Township.
